There are children standing here,
Arms outstretched into the sky,
Tears drying on their face.
He has been here.
Brothers lie in shallow graves.
Fathers lost without a trace.
A nation blind to their disgrace,
Since he's been here.
The Year is 1977. Terrible things are happening, and though the ministry denies these atrocious events, everyone knows who is responsible. The Marauders have left the safe haven that is Hogwarts for the real thing. There is no sense of security out here, and the realities are about to hit home.
Houses burnt beyond repair.
The smell of death is in the air.
A woman weeping in despair says,
He has been here.
Tracer lighting up the sky.
It's another families' turn to die.
A child afraid to even cry out says,
He has been here.
At age 17, no one is blind anymore. There was a time when things could be masked and hidden, when the headlines in the newspaper weren’t quite real. There was a time when these things couldn’t happen to them, and when parents smoothed things over with a few words and nothing else. That time is over.
Voldemort has affected every one of these children directly. He has taken their loved ones, forced them to grow up sooner than necessary. They have witnessed horrific things on account of their lineage, their bloodlines.
There are children standing here,
Arms outstretched into the sky,
But no one asks the question why,
He has been here.
Old men kneel to accept their fate.
Wives and daughters cut and raped.
A generation drenched in hate.
Says, he has been here.
This is the hour where decisions will be made. Sides will be taken, for war is fast-approaching, and it is impossible to remain neutral.
It’s time to pick your family.
