Narissa sat as she watched her young daughter, Lucy, running around the beach, her spade flying around as she did so. This is what Narissa loved most about living in New Zealand, the fact that Lucy could just roam around, without the fear of losing her, or something else happening to her. She giggled as Lucy fell over, she stood up and walked over to her, picking her up and brushing the sand off her. You young lady are so clumsy. She giggled as Lucy once more ran off without her, Lucy's giggles could be heard from everywhere.
Narissa walked back over to the towel she was sitting on previously, she looked around the beach, watching as other children ran around the beach. Narissa looked back at her own daughter, and smiled, this was the life, this was all she needed for now.

Penelope shifted uncomfortably on the small wall she was sitting on and looked down again at her watch. Her lovely friends from work had arranged a blind date for her this weekend, deciding that she spent far too much time on her own or working, but so far her date was a no show. She had been expecting him to be there when she arrived, for she was a little late thanks to her car acting in its usual grandfather-car nature, but half an hour after their agreed meeting time and he was still not there. Sighing, Penelope stood up straight and force of habit wiped at the non-existant dirt on the bum of her red high-waisted shorts. Taking one last glance in at both directions of the street to her sides, Penelope lifted her sunglasses off of her head and put them on properly. Walking forward a few steps, she waited a minute or two for the cars to stop passing back and forth before crossing the street to the beach. It had been taunting her whilst she had waited, for Penelope had wanted nothing more than to go and stroll along it instead of waiting for some douchebag. She slipped off her flipflops and put them in the outer pocket of her big, flowery handbag before stepping on to the sand and the gentle heat against her feet. She dandered along, swinging her bag by her side and humming 'Accidentally In Love' to herself. Despite having just been stood up, it was days like this particular one that made Penelope extremely happy to be a) Alive, and b) a native of New Zealand. Without even noticing, Penelope had stopped walking and was watching some kids playing on the beach together (Not watching in a pervy way, I just noticed that sounds, well, weird...). She shook her head back to attention and then noticed there was also another woman watching the children, well, one in particular. Penelope thought it might be nice to have a natter, and make a new friend, so she walked over to the area around where the woman sat and watched over the kids again for a minute. "Is that your daughter?" Penelope asked, nodding in the direction of the little girl that woman had been watching. "She's really adorable," she added.

Narissa watched as her daughter dug up a little hole, she giggled at her, it was just right that it would be her daughter that made a big hole that someone fell in or something. Lucy, don't dig to deep. She shouted over to her, Lucy smiled at her mother and dug some more. Narissa saw a shadow approach her, she looked up to a face that she'd never seen before, which she was glad off, she didn't really have many friends at the moment.
She smiled as the young lady complimented her daughter. Yeah she is mine, she's a little mischeif at times, but I wouldn't have her any other way. Narissa finished this sentence with a small giggle, before standing up so that she was now face to face with the young lady. I'm Narissa. She smiled, extending a hand for her to shake.

Penelope smiled and noted at the other womans reply. "It'd be peculiar to find a little girl who isn't mischievous," she joked. Not wanting the conversation to fizzle into awkward silence, she then asked, "How old is she?" Penelope took a step back as the other woman stood up, so she wouldn't be blocking her way or anything, and then gave a broad smile when the other held her hand out. "Pleased to meet you Narissa, I'm Penelope. Well, Pennie, but nice to meet you regardless," she returned, starting to ramble for no particular reason.
((I'm major sorry for it's fail. I'm going into school mode so everything else isn't working.))

Narissa nodded, the young lady was right, it wouldn't be right if there wasn't a bit of mischeif in young children. Narissa watched her running around the beach once more. She's just turned 4. Narissa couldn't help but smile, Lucy was he sunshine, her everything, nothing could ever take that away from her. Narissa smiled as she introduced her self as Penelope, but obviously preferred being called Pennie. It's nice to meet you too Pennie. What brings you out to the beach on this fine day.
