Years in the future, Severus was killed by Voldemort just before Voldemort's end. However, he was not really killed, instead he was given a second chance and was brought back to our current time. The Marauder's are now in their seventh and final year at Hogwarts. Lily and Severus aren't friends anymore. Lily and James are the Head Boy and Girl. Lily has set her sights on the maturing James Potter. Rumors float around the school. Students are choosing their sides in the war. What's more. The Dark Lord himself was transported back in time.
